Charlotte Pelgen is a singer and ukulele player. Born in Tübingen, she made her way via Malmö, Freiburg, Munich and Leipzig to the area around Cologne. Today she lives there in a small converted construction trailer next to an old moated castle, right between the castle wall and the moat. For almost ten years she has performed on international stages, both solo and with her bands, and is known for her interpretations of old swing tunes and her specialization in historical ukulele techniques of the early 20th century. She also writes her own songs, blending the rhythms and harmonies of this music with influences from chanson, folk and pop. The result is small stories from her life, about change and letting go, arriving and setting out.
